Just a nice flat paved trail, with incredible views of Whaley lake and fall foilege. Lots of bicycles, but also nice to walk.

A nice smooth blacktop trail, lots of wildlife to see: deer, beavers, herons, king fishers, and more.

Parking is easy but there is a semi steep trail from the trail to the parking lot. Just a few hundred feet south of the bike repair area.
It’s a trail next to the abandoned railway line. The path is developed for biking, skating, walking, running and any such activities. The parking lot is above the trailhead with Accessible parking near the lake.
Got on the trail here. Rode north until trail read closed to repair storm damage. Rode back a few miles to the south of the trailers to get out mileage in.
Half enjoyed the ride. Trail surface of crushed rock was fine. The views along the trail of wetlands and lakes along with beaver fans and even a beaver lodge where really nice.
All and all a wonderful introduction to the Empire Trail.
