In the winter, it’s a great place to walk your dog. The roadways are cleared. For the most part they’re also is the option of the winter sports area. They have an ice rink available a sledding hill. If you’re slow shoes or you’re on the brave hit most of the area is still very explorable through the snow for dog hikes.

It’s late afternoon, a couple of days after Christmas; we’ve just had our first big lake snow of the season. I’m at Como Lake Park with my new cross-country skis. The trails here haven’t been groomed yet, but that’s okay. I’m half making my own, half following the tracks of other skiers who were here earlier. The sun is glinting on the snow. There are people with their kids over on the sledding hill, but nobody’s around on this side of the park, where I am. I’m just gliding over the snow, listening to the birds. Peaceful. Beautiful. Nature. Perfection.

Como Lake Park is a great place to bring your family, or visit alone, any time of the year. Plenty of picnic shelters, playgrounds, disc golf, the animals and, of course, the scenery. But to me, it’s especially beautiful this time of year.

I haven’t been here in years and I just returned with my parents last week who haven’t been here in decades and we were very pleased with the improvements. I came here the last time back in Spring or Summer of 2021 and there have been some really grand changes made, all for the better of course. Great job!

This park offers a pristine environment and is considered a premier recreational destination near the Buffalo area, albeit requiring a moderate travel distance. Como Park provides a naturalistic setting, featuring a scenic creek. It is an excellent location to go for a run, for dog walking and birdwatching, with reported sightings of bluebirds during the spring. I heard the park also offers frisbee golf during the summer months. There are numerous shelters available for barbecues or large gatherings. Winter activities include ice skating, hockey on outdoor rinks, and sledding, with the lodge fireplace providing a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the park presents a comprehensive range of recreational opportunities throughout the year.

Always love coming to this park! Grew up down the road and basically lived here in my adolescent years! Beautiful park with trails, creek access, dog park, sledding hill, ice skating rink and casino to warm up, basketball and tennis courts, some outdoor fireplaces in the open pavillions. This is such a great park to visit!!
