Dow Park in Franconia, New Hampshire, is a community-focused green space offering a variety of amenities perfect for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts. Conveniently located on Dow Ave, the park features pet-friendly trails that wind through wooded areas, some of which run alongside the scenic Lamprey River. With both open areas and shaded spots, it’s a great destination for dog-friendly hiking, casual strolls, or outdoor concerts at the Dow Pavilion. The park is well-known for its dog-friendly atmosphere—with dogs welcome on the grass and a designated fenced dog park that allows for off-leash training and safe play.
Families can also enjoy playgrounds, picnic tables, and accessible walking paths, making Dow Park an excellent choice for all ages. While the dog park is somewhat hidden in the woods and may be unmaintained at times, many users appreciate its spaciousness and natural environment, making it ideal for training, socializing, or enjoying some “zoomies.” Plenty of parking, a peaceful setting, and local community events make this park a “diamond in the rough” for both dogs and their owners.
Beautiful Park. Set up for the North Country Chamber Players in the Dow Pavilion was perfect. There is seating under the pavilion, or bring your own to sit on the grass. Dog friendly on the grass, and many dogs were enjoying the music. 🐾 🎶
A lovely setting for a concert.

Nice wooded park with trails for walking and biking. Path can be rough in spots, with rocks and protruding tree roots. Use caution if you are riding a bike here.
