Beautiful area for a picnic with the family. Nice kayak boat launch with an area to watch the people go by. Very well maintained.

Stopped here to stretch my legs. It was a crisp chilly day with a slight drizzle. It was quiet and serene. Nice quiet spot in mid March. Beautiful mountains all around and a good place to rest for a bit before continuing on my travels. Bathrooms were winterized so don’t expect them until summer months.

WARNING: RESTROOMS ARE CLOSED.

We always try to stop by here when traveling through.
1) restrooms
2) kayak put in location.
I gave 3 stars due to the restrooms are CLOSED for winter? I am guessing it is due to the plumbing and freezing temps?
Still a great to stop if you want to eat, they have picnic tables at the location.

This is the midpoint drop-in and take-out area for whitewater junkies on the Nantahala River. Restrooms and plenty of parking are provided and it is handicap accessible.

Very nice roadside/riverside park with raft, canoe and kayak launch that will take you 5 miles downriver to the Nantahala Outdoor Center take out. Ferebee park is a safe place to leave your vehicle while on the river. Or you can just hang out at the park and watch the paddlers go by. Beautiful drive getting here through the Nantahala Valley.
