Big thanks to Bailey and staff. I can’t imagine the big hearts it takes to run a shelter and the heartbreaks and happiness they experience everyday. Please take the time to thank them because without them, we wouldn’t find our forever friends.

We came for a meet and greet with a dog here when we were looking to adopt. Although we did not end up adopting the dog (he thankfully was adopted the very next day by another family), our experience was very good! They were friendly and accommodating.

The absolute worst!!! I will never go back no wonder they have so many animals! The staff is rude and too lazy to get up! actually, that is a straight lie because I went to Spruce Pine and they let us walk down and pick out a dog and also when I called Madison Humane Society they said yes we most definitely let you go look. so thanks for being lazy and a liar! Have a great day

I’ve dealt with MANY offices of animal services in a few places up the East Coast and the staff at Yancy is by far the most helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The shelter is clean, the animals are healthy and or being treated and they seem to care about all of them. I’m grateful this establishment exists and even more grateful for the people who work here.
