As much of the care of the dogs is the care of their owners with drinks, music on occasion and places to sit and watch the dogs frolic. The staff is skilled at interrupting incipient dog altercations should such occur.

Maria is simply wonderful—attentive, kind, and always ready with a smile or a helpful hand when you need it. And Renee ties it all together with her warmth, professionalism, and the kind of personal touch that makes you feel like family.

I want to begin by saying that I was once a loyal supporter and enthusiastic patron of the Wag Bar. I still hold an annual membership and even have a Wag Bar bumper sticker on my car. My dog, Pepper, absolutely loved the Wag Bar. If she could have ordered a drink and cookie at the bar, she gladly would have. I believed in the concept so much that I brought her for her first visit the day she turned six months old. When the weather was nice, we visited weekly. I found it incredibly relaxing to sit in one of the lounge chairs, watching the variety of dog breeds and observing their playful interactions. It was a highlight of my week after a long day at work.
Unfortunately, everything changed at the end of April 2025.
Pepper, like many dogs who enjoy off-leash play, loved to chase and be chased by other dogs. During one of these playful chases, she caught her back leg on a support beam holding up a shade sail above a picnic table. The beam was installed at a 45-degree angle—something that likely made it difficult for her to accurately judge her distance. On impact, she let out a loud yelp that I will never forget. The injury was immediate and severe—she was non-weight-bearing on her hind leg within seconds. A kind patron brought her a bowl of water, and we left the Wag Bar almost immediately.
At the emergency veterinary clinic, Pepper was diagnosed with a complete tear of her cranial cruciate ligament. Surgery was the only viable treatment option for a dog her age and activity level. The procedure cost over NULL,000 and came with a lengthy and difficult recovery period. Pepper has been confined to a crate or small space for six weeks while her bone heals around a surgically implanted metal plate. As of this writing, she is four weeks post-operative, and her recovery has been slower than anticipated. We are cautiously optimistic that she may return to running by the end of the year.
This experience has been emotionally distressing and financially burdensome for both my husband and me (I am a social worker and he is a retired teacher). Most importantly, it has deeply affected Pepper’s quality of life.
In my opinion, this injury could have been prevented with a simple safety measure—placing a hay bale or protective barrier in front of the angled post. It is disheartening that safety precautions like these have not been implemented in an environment specifically designed for active, off-leash dogs.
If your dog enjoys high-energy play and group chases, I strongly urge you to exercise caution before visiting the Wag Bar. There are multiple exposed obstacles throughout the property that could pose serious risks to running dogs. What happened to Pepper has been heartbreaking, and I would not wish this experience on any other dog or their owner.
We love this place! Our dog especially loves the days when they fill the little pool with water. The staff are friendly and attentive to the dogs. We feel this place is very safe for our pets.
I seriously have nothing but good things to say about this location. Being new to the area, I was nervous about finding a community that I fit into and I quickly found that at the wag bar. No matter what time of day I go, there is always someone there who I jive with. Whether it’s over the music playing, the drinks on draft selection, or favorite foods from the food truck that comes by. Everyone is very accepting and quick to welcome you and your dog. They are also very quick to help in times of trouble, even when they hardly know you. Being a parent of little kids also, it provides the perfect escape from a crazy day, or a crazy week, even if it’s only for an hour. You don’t need to drink to enjoy your time here. They do amazing events, generally with someone who grabs adorable pictures of you and your dogs for free. They are just really good people here, staff and owners. The dogs help too on tough days by providing all the snuggles and pets
