Discover Eastgate Woodlands, a scenic dog-friendly park nestled alongside the Willamette River in Springfield, OR. This gem features forested paths, lush green spaces, and easy access to the region’s expansive pedestrian and bike trail network, including Pre’s Trail and connections to Alton Baker Park. Dog owners and their four-legged friends will enjoy open areas for running, pet-friendly trails perfect for hikes, bird watching, and peaceful strolls. The park provides shady spots from mature trees and benches with beautiful river and mountain views, making it a relaxing destination for pet owners seeking quiet reflection or an active walk with their pups.
This Springfield dog park is well maintained with mowed lawns and offers plenty of space for both exercise and play, though it is not a dedicated off-leash or fenced dog park. Families and visitors will find picnic tables, a playground nearby for kids, and easy access to nature—just watch out for primitive paths and a few blind curves. Whether you’re seeking a pet-friendly retreat or a stunning stop along your dog-friendly hike, Eastgate Woodlands offers a blend of tranquil beauty and recreational opportunities near Eugene.
Great little area to walk your dog and see local birds, it also leads into the Alton Baker park recreational area
Pre’s Trail and the large Eugene/Springfield bike trail system runs through here. Beautiful forest area with the Willamette River and the Patterson Slough run through too. Lots of birds and squirrels to observe and photograph.
It’s good to walk around the park. Really overgrown now they don’t do much Landscaping there but still fun little walk. And do a little fishing.
A beautiful forested area alongside the Willamette River consisting of multiple running trails, paved bicycle routes, general pedestrian walkways, and benches with scenic views. It’s one of my favorite parts of Pre’s Trail. 4 out of 5 stars ⭐.
Great little park that apparently has many parts
