Located in the heart of La Mirada, California, La Mirada Community Park/Lake is a favorite destination for both locals and visitors seeking a dog-friendly, outdoor escape. This expansive park features dedicated off-leash areas for both small and large dogs, offering plenty of room for pets to roam, play, and socialize. The dog park areas offer a blend of sand with some grass and are partially shaded by mature trees, making it a comfortable spot even on sunnier days. With ample seating for owners, a peaceful lake backdrop, and kid-friendly amenities like playgrounds and baseball fields, it’s a park the whole family can enjoy.
The park boasts pet-friendly trails ideal for strolls, conveniently located parking on both ends (with EV chargers), restrooms, and picnic areas. The grounds are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of shade and scenic spots for picnics or relaxing. While there are no water features for dogs to swim, there is a beautiful lake for fishing and photography. La Mirada Community Park/Lake stands out for its community events, such as summer concerts and fireworks, making it not only a dog park but a true community gathering space.
The park is fine but the parking gets crowded. Other then that it’s great place for walks, walking the dog, or having a picnic or birthday party. Also July 3rd is the fireworks show. And concerts in the park. In July and August
Excellent park. Lots of green. Lots of baseball fields. Racquetball, tennis, playgrounds, disc golf, lake for fishing… Everything you could want in a park.
The downside… Fields are regularly booked. The lake is pretty dirty (not trash but ducks). And lots of duck poop.
None of the cons are that bad. It’s just me picky.
Nice park with lots of different things to do. The disc golf course is top notch.
Fairly well maintained body of water within the La Mirada Park!
Small enough to walk around in just a few minutes, it makes a great scenic place for a leisurely stroll, as well as a beautiful backdrop with a game of disc golf. Although large enough to lose a disc, without a dry means to reach it!
Though what constitutes a lake? I pondered the question after seeing this place on the map. There doesn’t seem to be a yardstick to go by, or a scene of boats and swimmers. And while swimming isn’t permitted here, a quicken dip for a disk may understandably be par for the course!
There are however large waterfowl, including ducks and geese.
This so-called lake is also known for fishing and photography.
Though of all my references, my Google Maps designation is good enough for me!
I really love coming here. It’s my home away from home. It’s got a lake, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, handball, and a world class disk golf course.
They ever have concerts in the park in the summer. My husband and I saw a Beatles tribute band last month!
