Brooklyn Park is a welcoming neighborhood spot in Portland, Oregon, ideal for locals looking to enjoy some fresh air with their dogs. While not a dedicated dog park, Brooklyn Park features wooded areas, grassy spots, and plenty of walking paths where dog owners can stroll with their pets, making it a great choice for anyone searching for pet-friendly trails in the city. The park is well-loved for its community vibe, mature shade trees, and accessibility for all ages.
Amenities at Brooklyn Park include a fun playground with climbing structures, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a baseball field, ensuring there is something for everyone in the family. The ample tree cover provides natural shade year-round, and there are benches and limited picnic tables for visitors to sit and relax. Restrooms are also available and generally kept in good condition. Typical of many neighborhood parks, Brooklyn Park is frequented by dog walkers—even though it does not have a fenced, off-leash area, making it a lovely spot for leashed walks and socializing within the local dog-loving community.
Great park with swings for toddlers and older kids. Big covered picnic table but awkward to sit at. Bathroom are pretty clean.
Wonderful neighborhood park with all sorts of play equipment and a nice layout baseball softball field. Would be a great sledding Park if and when it snows.
Love how the baseball field is positioned below the playground; makes for great views during a game, and also keeps little ones from wondering too close to the game. Fun playground in a nice neighborhood.
Wonderful experience so glad we have this beauty, and all the people who have loved and cared for it over the years. It may not be the biggest, or newest, but it’s the best park in my standards. It’s a community vibe and I hope it stays that way. I LOVE YOU BROOKLYN PARK!
Smaller size park with a big hill. The sound of street noise is present throughout even when away from 12th. Play area is farthest from the busy road on top of the hill with basketball court and dugout below. Limited picnic tables but a fair number of benches. Some big, nice trees around the perimeter and the low cluck of chickens in a neighboring yard.
