Lucky Run Park is a charming, neighborhood green space in Arlington, VA, much loved for its peaceful atmosphere and pet-friendly trails. Popular with local dog owners, the park offers a mix of paved and unpaved walking and biking paths, making it an excellent spot for scenic dog walks alongside a small stream. With mature trees providing ample shade, grassy open fields, and benches scattered throughout, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing stroll with your furry companion.
Besides the dog-friendly hiking opportunities, Lucky Run Park also offers a playground for children, a basketball court, and well-maintained soccer fields. The park’s serene setting, convenient location next to the Claremont and Windgate communities, and reputation for cleanliness and upkeep make it a favorite for families and pet owners alike. Ample parking is available, though some minor repair to the lot may be periodically needed.
This is a very small park. Literally 3-5 yards stretched across a road.
The creek is currently very overgrown but otherwise it’s a fine bike path and green space. Next to the Claremont and Windgate communities. Fairly well used, it is popular as a commuting route for bicyclists and students.
Always relaxing for walks, not crowded, safe & clean. Love the small stream flowing alongside & beautiful greens at every season! Also spotted peaceful crowds of deers at night!
Nice little trail for running, biking, or just walking.
You can see DC boundary stone 5 in this park, which is mostly a running and biking trail between King St and Four Mile Run, with benches, trees, and a very small stream. The main problem is that at the south end of the trail, there is not a crosswalk across King St at the corner with Walter Reed/Beauregard. That omission frustrates the transition from this nice Arlington trail to the Alexandria sidewalk.
