Brookside Dog Park, conveniently located in the heart of Albert Lea, MN along W Richway Dr, is a favorite spot for local dog owners seeking safe and happy off-leash play. This well-maintained dog park offers two fully fenced areas: one for large, energetic dogs and another smaller side for more passive or petite pups. Both sections feature plenty of open, grassy space for zoomies, doggy playdates, and exercise under beautiful shade trees.
Unique to Brookside Dog Park is its setting right near the river, giving dogs a chance to swim or splash in shallow waters — a rare find among Minnesota dog parks. The adjacent walking and gravel trails running through native prairie grasses and woods offer dog-friendly hiking opportunities for both pets and their humans. The park is equipped with convenient amenities such as water spouts, bowls, picnic tables, benches under shady trees, and waste bag stations. With restrooms and ample parking nearby, plus a vibrant, friendly community of local dog lovers, Brookside is easily one of the best off-leash dog parks in Southern Minnesota.
Great space. 2 separate areas so your dogs can enjoy freedom without interruption
First time at the park and My Luna loved it. Made three new friends too!
Great place to take your dog/s to run, fenced in, has water spouts and water dishes for dogs. There’s plenty of benches if you need to sit while your dog runs.
Children may get bored but your dog will have fun.
Very nice dog park with 2 fenced areas, located within a large park in central Albert Lea along a river or narrows in the lake. Worth getting off the interstate if you’re looking for a park. And there’s a huge community garden within the park.
Recently rescued a 6 month old pup so I’m new to the dog park. Friendly people and the dogs have a blast!
Two nicely fenced in sides for both small and large breeds.
