I have lived in town since 2010 and just recently discovered this amazing ranch. The history and beauty of it is so perfect. I am an outdoor person and I have found my newnfavorite spot. The trails are not horrible and will not kill you if your just looking for a short easy trip. The scenery is unmatched. You see so many different landscapes its almost like your in a different area for all of them. The history here is educational and the ranch house is beautiful. Learning about the Pahrump Pooling fish was also something I was not expecting. Can’t wait to go back.

Definitely worth the NULL to get in. Lots of hiking with great views and grass you could lay in or have a picnic. The ranch house is filled with cool tidbits, and if you catch a tour you get a ton of info about the area. Plus, like, who doesn’t like to see some cows? Always try to get here a couple times a year.

Best hidden gem I’ve found so far in the Las Vegas valley. This had the best hiking trails in the ash grove trees for my young hikers. The historical farmhouse had so much to learn. Thank you staff for showing us the beautiful land.

Cute area down the road from Red Rock. Since it’s outside the city the temperature is a bit cooler, and snow can even be seen here in winter sometimes. The trails are short but beautiful and there are plenty of trees and some picnic tables in the center, but watch out for animal feces. Cows and donkeys can be seen in their pen from a distance but I’m not sure if you’re able to get close to them.

This is a state park, so don’t forget to check out the visitor center and get a stamp for your Nevada state parks passport! Normally the stamps are sitting out and you can do it yourself or the staff are more than happy to give you one, but I asked an employee there and she was giving my group a hard time about it. Nonetheless, we got our booklets stamped.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a serene desert oasis just 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, offering a refreshing escape into nature, history, and tranquility.

I went for a hike and ended up spending hours just soaking in the views and the peaceful vibe. The weather was cooler than in the city (thankfully!), and the clouds made it feel even more magical.

I saw so many animals while I was out there—wild burros, a desert tortoise, lizards, and some beautiful, colorful birds that made the whole experience feel extra special. 🐢🦎🕊️

The trails are short and easy with stunning mountain backdrops, and I even came across a small family cemetery from the early 1900s tucked away in the middle of the mountains. It gave the place a quiet, almost sacred feeling—like you’re walking through layers of history.

Whether you’re into hiking, nature, or just need a peaceful escape from the chaos of the Strip, this spot is totally worth the visit. Can’t wait to go back and explore more! 🌞
