Dog park is pretty bland, but good open space for dogs to roam. Caution little to no shade for dogs so if its hot out bring plenty of water.

Generally this park is great to go to and being so close to where I live, I’m grateful to be able to let my dogs run. Most of the dog owners are responsible, pick up after their dogs, bring water and share (as do I), and nice to get to know.

There are three sections, small dogs encouraged to the left, middle which is mysteriously always locked, and big dogs on the right.

Right now it’s monsoon season so lots of grass, mosquitoes, and dragonflies, and last night we encountered a rattler for the 1st time. Also mud holes with slick black sludge that’s stinky.

Occasionally dogs are aggressive or fearful, which is mostly handled well by the owners. There is one man, however, who brings a whole new perspective to crazy and entitled. His dog’s name is Pisca, an overweight white lab mix. Poor dog for having an owner who insists he doesn’t have to manage, watch over, or monitor his pooch. He feels the park is a “democracy” and that your possessions also are now her possessions (that’s called soicalism btw) and he’ll throw slurs at you (like call you fat or uneducated) for suggesting he remove another dog’s ball from her mouth. Personally I have removed the ball from her mouth, but I shouldn’t have to. But this guy is too self-absorbed in recording himself doing Tai’-chi to bother.

My dogs had a great time playing at the park. Very spacious, lots of room to run. The ground seems very level and safe. Excellent airlock system for safely bringing dogs in and out. Small dog section and large dog section. If there were restrooms for humans, we’d have stayed longer.

We got harassed by these people the other day who confronted us and kept taking photos and video of us. They also called the police, who arrived and talked to them for 20 seconds before leaving as even the police thought they were nuts.

They wanted us out of the small dog park, despite our dogs being only 30lbs and on the medium small side. The funny thing is that there were other dogs that were bigger than ours running around in the park as well but they just decided to harass us. Not sure if they were racist or what as we were the only Asian people there.

Our dogs are also very submissive and get bullied by smaller dogs all the time. If we went to the large dogs part of the park they would be bullied even more.

Also nothing bad happened between our dogs and theirs so there is no reason for these people to go nuts on us.

Now I see why many people avoid this park. This place needs a ban list for these crazy racists.

I love this park. The community treats you like family. You can find dog bowls for water. Most time they already have water– great community of dog lovers. Big dogs with little dogs is pretty common. The park has grass…. and yes unfortunately we’re in the desert and those little panless stickers will catch onto winter sweaters.

There’s a skate park next to the dog park. Cute little mile hill hike with a picnic table. Phenomenal sunset views. I imagine sunrise being just as beautiful.
