While not a traditional fenced dog park, the Hampstead Town Forest is popular among local dog owners for its peaceful setting, expansive trails, and the presence of water features like a pond or swampy areas amidst the paths. Shady woods and quiet surroundings provide a relaxing environment for both you and your dog. Visitors are advised to review the trail maps before entering, as the trail system is extensive and easy to get turned around in, especially for first-time visitors.
Awesome system of trails with some neat things to check out at different spots, a couple of ups and downs but mostly flat. Saw a few deer today and checked out the old mica mine off the orange loop (never seen so much mica in one place). Will be back to explore all the areas more for sure!
I hiked on the red trail loop. It was a little harder than I’m used to but not to bad. Some good inclines. I’m not hard core being 60 and heart and lung issues. So a little challenging for me. I’m still going back for the challenge. I believe all New Hampshire trails are gorgeous.
The trails were great! Clearly marked. I heard several Rusty Blackbirds, a Ruby Crowned Kinglet, and American Goldfinch. The trails were varied, with a pond/swamp area amidst the trails. Peaceful. Great place to walk. There are several trails.
Had a great walk with Blaire. Nice paths clear marking
Very beautiful walk and not crowded but the trail is lacking trail signs once you enter there are red dots and yellow dots but if you don’t no the trail well very easy to get lost my short hike with my dog turned into 3 hours of trying to figure out were the hell I was and how to get back to the entrance I parked at so be sure to take a pic of the map before you go In because if u get turned around inside you will mindlessly following dots on trees and it’s a very large park ended up having to walk 2 1/2 miles back to my car with the help of Google maps or I would still be wondering around
