Rand Park in Montclair, NJ, is a vibrant community spot featuring a basketball court, DIY skatepark, and a welcoming atmosphere for families and pets alike. Conveniently located at 155 N Fullerton Ave, it’s known for its accessibility, being wheelchair-friendly both at the entrance and in the parking lot. This park is an excellent choice for dog owners looking for a pet-friendly outdoor adventure in Essex County.
While Rand Park is not a dedicated off-leash dog park, dogs are allowed on-leash, making it perfect for owners looking to walk their pets or enjoy a casual outing with kids. The combined open layout, after recent removal of fencing, creates a spacious environment for socializing or relaxing, and the nearby coffee shop adds to the park’s appeal. Visitors enjoy a chill vibe and kid-friendly amenities, alongside a community-oriented skate and sports scene.
Great experience, Chill locals, Decent Diy obstacles and also built in ones. Only issue is the satanic pebbles on the ground that get you when you least expect it, lol.
dope little park. they finnaly took out the fence that now merged the park to one big space. cool little coffee shop down the way also. cool street set up they have a nice sized ledge an some flat bars over all one of the better tennis court parks around. for sure worth checking out.
I love to skate this DIY skate spot it has almost anything you would want on a skate park and I really enjoy skating here with the other skaters. The only thing I don’t like is how there is a lot of trash and it is hard to skate when it is crowded. Overall I love to skate here when it is nice and not too crowded. 5/5 skate spot.
good little diy park setup. great for kids or people learning. they need something more permanent. gets pretty busy on the weekends. I liked it here during the winter because it had one street light that stayed on so I could skate after work but they changed the hours last I heard.
Skatepark and basketball court are right next to each other, which is very convenient. Chill vibes all around.
