This is the best bike trail I have ever been on. The lake views or amazing. The trails were twisty and fun. Definitely worth it.
We were recommended to try out this trail by the guys at Cartecay Bike Shop. It was a nice easy trail with some lovely views of the lake. There are some areas with steep drop offs along the side of the trail, so be careful not to go off the side. This is more of a hiking trail that is also good for mountain biking, instead of a dedicated and purpose built mountain bike trail.
I hiked Amadahy with my daughter on a Saturday early afternoon. The trails were nice and clearly marked. There were restrooms at the beginning of the trail and at the end and in between, where the campgrounds were. They are not fancy bathrooms. Very much what you would expect at campgrounds, but nice to have. I noticed several grill setups. They would definitely be nice for an afternoon gathering. The views were beautiful with glimpses of the water along the trail. Most of the walking path was shaded by trees. We really enjoyed Amadahy!
A very beginner friendly hike. Beautiful scenery of Carter’s Lake. There were only a couple we passed on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Good for children and those seeking a quiet walk in the woods.
Beautiful hike with beautiful scenery. Moderate difficulty with hills, and a few steep slopes to access the lake. It was fairly empty with only a few other cars. The lake is beautiful with clear waters. Dogs had a great time swimming in it. There are a few small beach areas. Beautiful place to spend the day.
