Brown Memorial Dog Park is a spacious, well-maintained fenced area perfect for dog owners seeking a safe, off-leash environment in Lafayette, Louisiana. As the city’s only dedicated off-leash dog area, this park provides a green sanctuary where your pups can run, play, and make friends. The space is divided into sections, including a separate smaller area for little dogs, ensuring all canines have a comfortable place to enjoy their day.
Amenities at Brown Memorial Dog Park include seating options with benches and covered shelters, as well as water stations and a hose to help keep pets cool or hydrated. Parking is plentiful and wheelchair accessible, and restrooms are available for visitors. The park is well-lit for evening visits and features a track around its perimeter, popular with both dog owners and fitness enthusiasts. With its central location and friendly atmosphere, it’s a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike seeking pet-friendly activities in Lafayette.
It’s a great big fenced field with lots of good grass, some benches, and some roofed table areas. There’s a smaller gated-off section for small dogs. There is also a little hose to give your dog a drink or hose them off if they’re dirty. Love this place.
Currently Lafayette’s only off leash dog area. It’s just a big fenced area with few extras (kiddie pool for cooling off, benches for sitting) There are usually plenty of dogs for your pup to interact with. Bring your own bags because the bag dispenser is always empty. There are a few maintenance issues as well but the dogs dont mind! (Nothing hazardous)
Clean & well maintained public park. Restrooms available. Plenty of lighting for nightly activities. Ample parking, even for overly large vehicles. Not even a half block off Pont Des Mouton Dr. A hot spot for animals/pet lovers. Track around the entire park. I come here often alone and/or with friends quite a bit throughout the week. I absolutely love this park & feel that the Lafayette Consolidated Government are doing an awesome job with public parks around The City of Lafayette. I’d definitely recommend this park & the many others throughout Lafayette to family, friends, or the general public looking for a safe, fun, functional park to share their memorable moments.
Wonderful dog park. Not too crowded. Not crowded at all actually. Only saw two other dogs. They have doggy bags for poop and plenty of water all over for your dog. Also plenty of seating if you get tired. Huge sign at the front telling you all the (valid) reasons you should not have your small children here. My dogs loved it but stayed next to us most of the time due to the fact that there is only shade near (most) seating. Close to I-10, so as a regular traveler I will be back!
Beautiful park with alot of space for your fur baby’s to enjoy the sunshine!
