This is a beautiful park, with miles of tails.
If you are a hiker, be aware that mountain bikes are allowed on most trails. This makes them a bit grooved and rocky. The swichbacks are also super ling, so consider that when you figure out how long a distance will take you to complete.
The facilities are top notch. Cabins or camping is nice.

Now the waterfalls are underwhelming in the autumn. I laughed, because if i was ever going to give a natural feature a 1 star review, Blue Suck Falls would get it 😂

The park this time of year is not very crowded. My dog absolutely loves running the trails here. Tuscaloosa cabin is a must! Be prepared, this place has no cell coverage whatsoever at most of the campgrounds. The whispering pines barely has enough coverage for text messaging. Starklink is usable except for white oak campground. Tree, cover there is problematic. Which is fabulous, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Picturesque to say the least, Duthart does every bit of justice to its good name. A vibrant beach filled with charming children during the summer , leisurely couples
boating on the lake, aspiring anglers, beautiful trails… you name it and you’ve got it!

Parking is 7$ , pictures don’t do justice you have to come here to see it firsthand.

This has to be one of my favorite state parks in Virginia. We visited during a long weekend on a rainy day, so it wasn’t crowded. The lake is beautiful, and the view from the lake is even more stunning. I can’t recommend it enough. If you love nature, this place is a must visit.

This was our 1st time camping here. The sites are well maintained, and the bathroom is amazing, clean, and lots of hot water, with a heater in the shower room, so you stay nice and warm in the colder months. We got there after hours the 1st night, and the ranger helped us to our site and continued to stop by and chat with us for the rest of our stay. The staff and camp hosts were very helpful! There are trails galore for hiking, the lake is beautiful. We will be back here again, for sure !
