It’s a quick walking spot in a nut shell. The trail leads back behind some residential. Clocked 2 miles almost back and forth from the parking lot with the porto-jon to the store entrances end. It is scenic in some spots on the trail. May be an ok spot for seeing birds too.

Don’t know much about Kimball park but I walked the rail trail from there to Wallkill and back. I was glad it had a Porta potty.

First off, Kimball Park is not a park. It should be named Kimball Parking. The actual sign even explains that it is parking for the rail trail. And that is all it is. A nice parking lot with a little grass around here and there. But it is two thirds the length of the rail trail going north to south, or one third going south to north. But it’s a decent parking lot fairly private. And it has a porto-john. I visually verified it being there the this morning, the beginning of Aug 2022,
I did not physically check to insure it is not locked or how clean it might be. So proceed at your own risk.

Edit to add: I added some photos taken Feb 2023.

Nice, wide rail trail for a run or bike ride. Plenty of parking, and has a porta-potty onsite. The trail connects from Walden to Wallkill, and is shaded by trees most of the way.

Decent parking lot right next to rail trail with added bonus of port-opotty
