Griffith Park is a small, peaceful, and beautifully maintained park located alongside the Rockaway River. It features serene waterfall views, picnic tables, and a few benches ideal for relaxation, meditation, and quiet conversation. While not suitable for hiking or dog walking, the park is dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible. Visitors appreciate its calm atmosphere, scenic water features, and the natural shade provided by trees. Note that the park does not have bathrooms, water fountains, or designated dog play areas.
Very nice little park. Not for hiking or dog walking. Five minutes to walk around the ground. More for a quiet relaxation, meditation and or conversation. Sitting next to the canal, watching the rapids, reflections of trees, and the colored cloud at sun set makes a well worthy visit.
Ended up meeting a good friend after months of social distancing here. We chose it so we stay outdoor. There are a few benches to sit and chat. It is very pretty to watch the small water fall and cars that pass by once in a while. We enjoyed it as the wethere was gorgeous. Unfortunately’ the place has no bathrooms, which was a pain. Wish they would install one! Recommend if you need a quiet place to sit down and just enjoy the moment.
This park was refreshed over the last few years. It’s located right on the Rockaway River and is a popular location for pulling out canoes before the falls. There is a decent size parking lot, a picnic table, and a small circular seating area for programs. Well maintained and nicely manicured, you should stop by and enjoy.
