Located in Montville, New Jersey, Montville Dog Park offers local dog owners a highly maintained, safe space for their pets to play. This dog park is known for its clean gravel surface, which helps keep dogs’ paws clean year-round. The park is securely fenced and requires membership, ensuring all dogs are up to date on vaccinations and neutered/spayed. Entry requires documents such as dog license, proof of rabies and distemper shots, proof of being fixed, and a recent fecal test. The emphasis on health and safety distinguishes this dog park from many others in the area.
Accessibility is a standout feature, including a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. While it doesn’t have grassy or natural pet-friendly trails within the fenced area, there is a grassy patch outside for leashed play. Its membership model offers a more controlled environment, but some visitors note the park is often underutilized. Montville Dog Park is a great, clean option for owners seeking a secure and well-regulated dog park experience in northern New Jersey.
I can honestly say it is empty 99 percent of the time. Too many hurdles to join, so I never bothered. I’ll just go to north caldwell dog park or have the dogs stay in my own yard.
OK park if you pay for it, all gravel no grass… I was not allowed in; but there is a good size grass patch outside of the park not fenced in I was able to let the dog play fetch.
Do not go if you are not a member.
Today was my first day at the park after applying and I can truly say that its the best dog park I have been to. To the other people saying that their are too many hurdles they just arent taking the time to collect the info they should already have when owning a dog. The park needs a dog license, rabies proof, proof your dog is fixed, recent fecal test and distemper shots. All things your dog should already have as a responsible dog owner. I have been to many of the dog parks in the area and they do not compare. My dog loves this place and she already has a dog friend she looks forward to see when we keep going back.
Great Park .Very clean .No need to worry about
Muddy paws since they use gravel. The best part
all dogs need to be vaccinated yearly !!!
I was in Montville visiting family for Thanksgiving with my dog and was hoping to run my pooch around a bit but we’re not allowed in. As we drove by it was empty. Why bother creating an amenity if you’re going to work so hard to make it difficult to access. Really who are you keeping out of your empty dog run? Sad.
