🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Meadow Waye Park is a pet-friendly park nestled in a quiet Beaverton neighborhood, making it a welcoming destination for local families and dog lovers alike. Known for its large open grassy field, this park is a popular spot for dog owners to play fetch and exercise with their pets. Although the park isn’t a dedicated dog park, it offers plenty of space for dogs to run around when the field isn’t flooded during the wetter months. Wide gravel walking paths encircle the main grassy area, perfect for on-leash strolls and enjoying some fresh air. While portions of the park are largely fenced, there are gaps that could let dogs access the road, so it’s best suited for well-trained, supervised pets.
Amenities at Meadow Waye Park include a playground with swings and soft ground, picnic benches under large shade trees, covered seating, a community garden, water fountains for both people and pups, restrooms (porta potties), bike racks, and a small parking lot. The park is also family-friendly, with fun playground features and open mounds for children to climb. Whether you’re looking for a place for dog-friendly walks, a pet-friendly trail in Beaverton, or just a peaceful neighborhood setting to relax with your furry friend, Meadow Waye Park is a beautiful and convenient choice.
Is a great little small park and has a fair amount of nice amenities, like a porta potty, 2 sets of bike racks, tables and benches. is dog friendly it seems and has a nicely sized Soccer field with Two Goal Post.

Good community park, great spot for kids – there always seems to be families here whenever we walk by. Quiet streets nearby so it’s a good spot to walk to. Big open field that I have only seen used once before.

Actually just drove past going to an estate sale. But Google Maps keeps nagging me to do it, and I’ve found it becomes easier to just do one to shut it up.

Very nice small community park. It’s nestled into a neighborhood. Benches and tables scattered about. Some kids playground equipment and a huge grassy field for enjoying.

I live about 50 yards from this park and it’s been such a great spot for kids and animals alike to play.
There is a large field that goes unused most of the winter months, but is great for throwing the ball around for the dog.
Some have issue with off leash dogs, yet fail to realize that there are times when no one is at the park and throwing a ball around with a great trained dog has NEVER hurt anyone.
If there are children or anyone present, sure, leash the dog up and allow others to approach.
The play equipment is pretty limited (w/o swings) or anything that can be interacted with by parent and child simultaneously, yet it’s a safe play area.
Enjoy it.
