My dog and I stopped here for the first time on one of our frequent trips through Middletown in August 2025. At this trailhead there is ample parking (we had the place to ourselves) and some picnic tables. We tried the red trail across the road, but it grew increasingly grown over with weeds as we hiked, and given that it’s tick season, I decided to turn back. The trail is not regularly maintained but is fairly level. Also, it’s very rocky, so only recommended for hiking. We’ll come back to try the other trails, including the white blazed one that starts here.

This is one of our go-to Trail in Middleyown area, very well maintained Trail. You can take very beautiful photos here if you know how…

P.S. there is a construction on the north side of the lake, Trail closed on that side.
