If you’re searching for a dog park in Bonham, Texas, Lake Bonham Park is a great pet-friendly destination. The park features a dedicated dog area where many local pet owners bring their pups for exercise, off-leash play, and socialization. Visitors appreciate the park’s tranquil location near the lake, easy access, and the chance for both dogs and owners to relax and recharge in a scenic environment. The nearby swimming cove and ample space make it convenient for visitors looking for dog-friendly hiking trails or a lakeside escape.
Lake Bonham Park also serves as a central community spot, complete with walking trails, picnic areas, playground equipment for kids, and RV hookups. While the dog park provides basic amenities like seating and trash bins, some reviews mention the need for maintenance, especially regarding the fencing and cleanliness. Despite this, it remains a popular choice for dog walking, quick local visits, and meeting other pet owners in the Bonham area. Before you visit, be aware that there may be muddy spots after rain and check the perimeter for fence gaps if you have a small dog.
John is a great guy will do anything to help. This lake has never been this nice or clean. He’s always making sure we don’t need anything

We were lucky to visit on such a clear and cool day. The water was muddy, but beautiful, and it’s a fairly quiet area. Very clean compared to other spots like this in the area, lots of trash cans and benches. I think this is in an RV park/campsite, so be aware of that if you want to come. Overall I’d recommend if you’re within 25 mins and need a quick recharge on sand that doesn’t take 6 hours to drive to. 🤙🏼

Quiet recreational area and the hookup areas were nice and shaded. We had a 27 foot trailer that fit perfectly. I was, however, a little disappointed to see that our spot had cigarettes everywhere, and a bunch of trash was left inside of the fire pit.

Nice park. Swimming area has been nice. The 2 restrooms (port a potty) were absolutely disgusting. To be fair, not sure how long they were like that. Otherwise, decent place. Easy launch ramp. Swimming cove that’s nice for very little kids up to adults. Very slight slope. It takes a while to get deep. Which can be great for kids. Campground looks nice. I think they upgraded the playground equipment also!
