People are super harsh on a cute little dog run that is completely run by volunteers in the area. It’s not city owned at all. It’s cute, small, and really breezy. Good for a drink while the dog chills. I wouldn’t suggest more than 10 dogs in there at a time but there’s plenty of space to walk around Astoria park.

Sadly in a really bad state.
There is no other dog run close by, so we have no choice other than to go there. As we have a hunting dog we can’t let him go off leash in the park because of the squirrels. There is poop all over the run and really big rocks sticking out of the ground. Not a nice place. It would be a great if the park would provide a new dog run.

Extremely DANGEROUS! My dog was able to fit himself under a gate and started running away down by the river which a person can’t access unless they climb down rocks from 14’ higher. Luckily he came running back to me after chasing him so I didn’t lose him. The fencing desperately NEEDS to be replaced either as a community initiative or by the city – not sure who runs it. Dogs can dig themselves away here & risk getting lost. Would not recommend until it receives the TLC it needs – a safe enclosure.

My dog was attacked the minute it walked through the gate by 4 smaller dogs who’s owners weren’t doing anything to restrain their pets. After I pulled my dog out of the run someone said to me no fighting dogs allowed even though my dog was in the gate literally 2 minutes, fully on the leash and didn’t provoke any other dogs to fight. I guess cause I had a pitbull I wasn’t welcome. I’ve heard similar stories of people getting into fights with their dog here.
