Located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina Freedom Park is a meaningful and serene green space that welcomes both dogs and their owners. While not a traditional dog park, it is distinguished by its beautiful, well-maintained grounds and inspirational exhibits dedicated to North Carolina’s freedom and civil rights trailblazers. The park is pet-friendly, making it an ideal stop for those seeking dog-friendly trails and a peaceful environment for reflection while walking their pups on-leash.
With its wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, the park is inclusive and easy to visit for all family members, including those with mobility devices. Children are also welcome, making this a great spot for families looking to enjoy some pet-friendly time outdoors. Though it does not feature specific fenced dog play areas or agility equipment, its open design and welcoming attitude toward dogs on-leash set it apart as a special place to take your pet while exploring cultural sites in downtown Raleigh.
Beautiful, very inspiring to many young people who will change the world.
Stunning and meaningful park. Definitely a must see. Well thought out and well-maintained. Take some time and walk around. Was excited to see how many people in the area and beyond were on the sponsorship wall. Very excited about this space and look forward to coming here to enjoy the park and reflect on how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.
Some of the quotes took my breath away. Perfect place to visit and reflect on MLK day.
Nice little park that creates an educational atmosphere. Provides solitude for reflection.
This is an amazing place to visit a second. Beautiful grounds, small but very informative.
