Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in the heart of Archbald, PA, Ed Staback Memorial Park is a spacious community spot popular for its paved walking trails, well-maintained sports fields, and scenic wooded areas. While there is no official dog park, local residents often use the fenced-in ballfields as an informal off-leash area for their dogs. The park offers pet-friendly trails perfect for dog-friendly hiking, with benches and covered resting spots spaced throughout, and plenty of open space for you and your furry friend to explore.
With its peaceful forest scenery, paved and mostly level trails for easy accessibility, and multiple recreational facilities—including playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts—the park is ideal for families and their pets. Visitors should be aware that the fields are sometimes used for youth sports, and official signage suggests dogs are not allowed in certain areas, so please be courteous and clean up after your pet. Bug spray is recommended due to abundant mosquitos, and nature lovers will enjoy bird watching and wildlife spotting along the trails.
Even though it was a rainy day day I was pretty impressed with this park. It’s part of a strip mine reclamation project, which is great to see. There is a ton of open space, a playground baseball and soccer fields.
There is also a system of walking trails that are wooded, yet paved allowing easy access for anyone to get out and enjoy a little walk in nature, even with limited mobility.
Nice park boasting walking trails, Childs playground, tennis, basketball courts, and ball fields in the complex. Map directions for archibald pothole state park took us to this park instead- the state park must be on the back side of the property. Portapottys available throughout the complex.
Wow. I’ve had this place on my list of spots to check out for years but never made it over til the other day. Wish I had known how nice it was sooner! Lots of areas to explore, walking trails are mostly level, paved so good for all different abilities. The forest is beautiful and peaceful. Mosquitos were abundant so make sure to prepare for that. Good for bird watching. Watch where you step, lots of cute little orange salamanders(?) hanging out. Tons of random benches (mostly covered) to stop and sit for a spell. Sadly it seems lots of visitors were incapable of picking up the trash they left behind so make sure you bring a bag and help clean up and leave no trace! ✌🏼🩵💚🌎🌳🌲🍄🌻🪻🐿️🦉🐦⬛🦅♻️
We went on a bit of rainy/misty day, but the walking trails were beautiful! We noticed many types of sports fields/courts on our walk. We will definitely be checking the park out again.
Great place to walk if you enjoy being in the woods. There are benches every so often so you and stop and rest.
