Greenwich Recreation Park is a charming green space in the heart of Greenwich, New York, offering locals and visitors a relaxing, pet-friendly destination. This dog park in Greenwich boasts shady trees and plenty of grassy areas for your dog to stretch their legs while you enjoy a quiet place for a picnic or a walk. While the park’s proximity to the Battenkill River provides scenic views, swimming in the river is not permitted due to water quality concerns, making it ideal for land-based dog activities and relaxation.
The park is family-friendly with playground equipment, a splash pad, and benches for comfort. It regularly hosts community events such as the Whipple City Festival and Holiday Tractor Parade, making it a lively spot during special occasions. Please note that while there is seating and shade, some reviews mention geese in the area and limited facilities, so visitors should come prepared.
It was a great place to have a little family get together. And you have a chance to look out at the water.
Quiet place to stop and eat a snack, let the dog stretch it’s legs. Geese were swimming by
This is a great Park to go to if you want to have a small picnic, or let your dog run when there’s nobody there as long as you pick up after it. The problem I have is even though this is a nice park with plenty of things to do for kids and families there is no swimming here as the battenkill is totally absolutely polluted by one of the major companies that runs on the battenkill. Otherwise it’s a nice place if you don’t want to swim.
Neat park but not very well fenced off for the water. I saw 3 kids try to make a b-line for it.
It was nice but would have been much better if swimming were available ..
