North Hills Dog Park offers a convenient pet-friendly escape for dog owners near Raleigh, NC. Situated right across from the Harris Teeter in North Hills, it features a spacious fenced area with soft sandy mulch, perfect for letting your dogs exercise and socialize. The park is known for being welcoming to dogs of all sizes and is especially appreciated by residents whose apartment amenities are limited.
This dog park in Raleigh stands out for its tree cover that provides natural shade, making it a cooler option for midday play. While amenities are fairly basic—no water fountain or designated small/large dog areas—the location is a huge plus, and parking is easy thanks to the adjacent Harris Teeter garage. After rainfall, the park can get muddy, but it’s a local favorite for those seeking a reliable spot to let their dogs run off-leash.
Nice fenced area. Sometimes lot of poop to watch out for. Need to maintain grounds and poop bags better.
Would be awesome if it had lights. I’ve seen people there late night with no dogs, so maybe more security too?
I agree with the other comments about the people, but I have found it’s fairly empty from 10a-2p during the week.
I was a little nervous brining my dog here (pretty young/small Italian Greyhound) but it turned out great. All the other dogs we met were friendly and the park is a decent size. There’s no water fountain and it gets pretty muddy after rain but overall a good experience!
I came after a Morning Rain worried it was going to be too muddy. It wasn’t! I am newer to the area and my apartment complex has a very small dog run. So my girl enjoyed being able to get her Zumiez out. I like that there is tree cover
Not many amenities and I wouldn’t want to be there after a rain but there are so few dog parks in the area that it gets an extra star for being there. If visiting by car, Harris Teeter garage is the best option – it’s right across the street.
King loves a good dog park! First of all, this place is across from Harris Teeter. We now know what to do while my wife is shopping. YAY!
Although there were not many other dogs here, the park was spacious and fun. The mulch was sandy soft. Good thing it hadn’t rained. Overall. King and I rate NH a solid 4 out of 5.
