It’s an out-and-back trail offering no access to other paths. The river here is a favorite for whitewater kayaking when the power company opens the dam upstream, though I’ve not done that. Across Route 97 one can see remnants of the D&H Canal that once ran from northern Pennsylvania to Kingston and the Hudson River.
Nice trail along the river. Sometimes I get to see eagles and also enjoy visiting the very old cemetery about 1 mile in. I have not taken the trail that breaks off and heads up the mountain yet but I hear it has great views if you’re looking for that.

Well tread and well kept trail. Easy water access. Simple 1 mile out trail ends at the Knight family cemetery. Fantastic views!
Very beautiful. Not a very hard hike at all. A small up hill but I’m talking small. About a mile to the cemetery which is the end point. Amazing surprise to see that type of cemetery. When we were told to take that hike we thought a cemetery near a main road like ones you see around not one from the 1800s! Very cool to see the history and picture life back then. Maybe that area was filled with cottages and lived out there in the woods. Crazy to think and imagine. Beautiful to see has little log seating a long the way. And look out for the trees that were taken down by beavers too! If you are around the hawks Nest area take a minute and if the hiking trail isn’t for you at least hi and see the pictures that they have posted up of how it used to look wayyyy back in the day! It’s crazy to think that they had a horse and carriage in that road!!
