Parking Mingus Park is a charming neighborhood park in Coos Bay, Oregon, offering a variety of amenities for dog owners and families alike. The dedicated dog park area is securely fenced, providing a safe space for pups to play off-leash. While the area is on the smaller side, it’s well maintained, grassy, and typically quiet—making it ideal for quick visits and exercise for small to medium-sized dogs. Pet owners appreciate the park’s cleanliness, availability of poop bags, and shady spots for relaxing.
The park itself features pet-friendly walking and hiking trails, lots of green space, shade trees, picnic tables, and additional recreational facilities including a playground, basketball courts, and workout equipment. There are paved paths, a covered picnic shelter, and parking nearby. Though there is a water bowl and hose for dogs, the water fountain could use a filter—so bringing your own water is a good option. This dog park is a well-kept, peaceful retreat for locals and travelers looking for a dog-friendly spot in Coos Bay.
Great place to walk our dog. Lots of birds on the lake to watch.
We Had wanted to Try to find a place to park our Van while we ate our lunch, as it had been a rainy day, We knew of one parking lot which sits across the street from the park. So.. We had just followed the map to Loop around as much as we could hoping to find additional parking options which We would have a nice view of the pond & ducks.. or just the beautiful landscaped grounds throughout the entire park:)!
An amazing person did some charity work and supplied an amazing homemade meal of creamy soup and chitos juice and oatmeal.the cooks that did an amazing job and fed all the hungry.thanks to the cooks .Kelly Mindy and Leeann and of course Brody the mascot. Bless you from our town.
The pictures make it look better than it is. Disappointing.
It’s one of the most calm peaceful areas I have found in this town. It’s clean although the water could really use a filter attached to that fountain if anyone would be so generous to donate one that would be awesome. Other than that this park is absolutely gorgeous.
