🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located conveniently under the iconic Triborough Bridge, this dog park in Astoria, NY offers a spacious, gated play area where dogs can exercise and socialize off-leash. The park is appreciated by local dog owners for its friendly atmosphere, sizable space, and shaded areas that help keep both pups and their humans comfortable, especially during sunny days. A grassy area and some tanbark spots allow for varied play, while benches and tables make it easy for owners to relax and watch their pets.
The Triborough Bridge Playground C Dog Run features water stations, including water bowls and hoses in the summer, to keep dogs hydrated and cool. Waste bags and seating are provided, and the run is described as generally well-maintained, thanks to both community efforts and responsive caretakers. The shaded setting and rare crowding make it a peaceful spot for both small and large dogs, though there is no dedicated small dog area. The nearby playground and picnic spaces add extra appeal for families visiting with kids and dogs alike.
Great dog run, lots of space and water available.
Only negative about this dog run is how much urine is on the concrete. Would be great if people would walk their dogs a bit before bringing them in so they get the urine out not in the area they play in.
Awesome dog run in Astoria. It’s located right under the bridge but so far noise doesn’t seem to bother any of the dogs. Really big space with lots of room to run around, and water hose in the summer for splashing and drinking.
Great dog park! Big, gated, under the highway so the sun does not beam down on your fur baby.
I recommend the place to take your dog to get active and socialize. It is quite spacious and there are sections for large and small dogs, there are also internal benches and the facilities are well located. I recommend you bring water for your pets because there is no water to give them as much they are thirsty
Update: the place needs proper cleaning on a regular basis. There is dog poop everywhere and it smells bad. Whenever I go here I try to clean as much as possible and hose the place down. If all of us would try and keep the place neat it would be a lot better.
I cant recommend this place enough! So many nice and caring dog owners that are respectful towards their next. I come here with my dog and my 1 1/2 year old (he is very good and gentle with dogs and whenever a new owner with a pup enters the run I pick him up and give the dog space to settle in not to get overwhelmed by a dog fanatic toddler). The run is clean, there are water fountains for the dogs to drink from and also cool off and there is also a little Kiddie pool for them. Love it! Coming back every day!
