Robin Hood Park, now officially known as Stefan Tatarenko Park, is a hidden gem nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood of Clifton, NJ. This family-friendly and pet-friendly park features large open fields ideal for free play with your dog, as well as tree-lined walking paths that offer a peaceful, scenic escape for leashed strolls. Known for its cleanliness and tranquility, the park is perfect for a brisk jog, relaxed walk, or a calming break in nature. The ample shady spots and benches provide the ideal setting to relax while your pup enjoys the park’s open areas.
In addition to its dog-friendly amenities, Robin Hood Park boasts a well-maintained playground, a baseball field, and tennis and basketball courts, making it a versatile spot for visitors of all ages. While the park is especially recommended for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails in Clifton or dog-friendly hiking in New Jersey, it’s also a great location for families and fitness enthusiasts. The lack of restrooms is a minor drawback, but the free street parking and year-round access ensure it remains a popular destination for locals seeking a peaceful retreat.

Such a perfect park for picnics and open field activities. The playground looks brand new and well maintained. Enough space under trees for shaded picnics. Only downside is there are no bathrooms.

Robin Hood Park, renamed Stefan Tatarenko Park in the fall of 2019, is one of the oldest and most popular parks in the City of Clifton. For a first time visitor, this park may be a little difficult to find, as it is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, but once you find it, you will be coming back soon. It has a box shape with a lot of open space for free play, a small baseball field and tennis courts on the west (uphill) end, and a fenced in playground for the kids, with a jungle gym, swings, and a small full court basketball court, on the east end. During the summer, this park has hosted a summer day camp, and also has offered some one week specialty camps, both sponsored by the Clifton Recreation Department. There is always fun to be had here. And for the adults, a huge tree lined walking path encircles the park, with numerous benches to relax upon.
