You’re good people and I’m glad you like them too
Food Park in McLeansboro, IL is, unfortunately, a disappointing experience, especially considering it’s the only true grocery store in town aside from a few Dollar Generals. Upon walking in, one of the first things you’ll notice is the condition of the store itself—especially the floors, which are visibly stained yellow and brown in several spots, making the place feel dirty and neglected.
I recently placed an order for fried chicken from the deli for Easter dinner, and the service left much to be desired. It took around 8 minutes just to get acknowledged, and another 7-8 minutes to receive the chicken—even though it had already been cooked and was just sitting in a heater. The staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in customer service.
The prices are another major issue. Many of the items aren’t even name brand, yet somehow cost more than the name brand equivalents at Kroger or Walmart. I was shocked to spend NULL.27 for what amounted to about 11 or 12 items. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay such a premium at a local grocery store that should, in theory, offer better value and service to the community.
Overall, Food Park is overpriced, underwhelming, and in serious need of updates both in service and in cleanliness. It’s disappointing that a town like McLeansboro has so few options, and residents are forced to either overpay locally or drive out of town for better quality and value.
I’m from Alabama but very good experience. Locating here so will be a regular. Someone posted watch the meats. The atmosphere in this store is excellent. I’m sure if you purchase something there. I am sure they will make it good. Extremely nice people!
Always friendly and courteous service! Their donuts are the best in town! The food prices are higher than other stores on some things. But, are lower on other items. So, it usually balances out. I like their meat specials every week.
Food Park has amazing prices. The Bakery makes fresh donuts everyday. Fried not baked. The best. The prices on meat amazes me. I haven’t found prices that cheap for a long time. Nice cut meats. The staff is so nice. Courteous and helps with anything you need. Great place to shop!
