🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Grays Road Dog Park is one of the best spots in Prince Frederick, Maryland, for dog owners seeking a spacious, friendly, and pet-focused destination. With four large, well-maintained fenced areas—two each for small and large breeds—your dog can enjoy plenty of room to run and play off-leash. Visitors appreciate the park’s clean grassy fields, vibrant dog community, and thoughtful amenities. The rural setting makes it a peaceful place for your pup to socialize and exercise, though bringing some bug spray for the outdoors is a good idea.
This dog-friendly spot features waste stations with bags and bins, water access (bring your own bowl), benches for owners (some may require repair), and wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking lots. The separate spaces for small and large dogs help ensure safe playtime for pups of all sizes. It’s kid-friendly too, so families can enjoy time outdoors together!
With 4 large fenced areas to run around in, my dog had an absolute blast here. Well maintained grass is a huge bonus in addition to the water available on site. It’s a more rural area, so bring some bug spray, but other than that, not much you can ask to let your dog just be a dog for a while.
Love the park and everything! My dog loves to go there and hang out with the dogs. One thing I would recommend is something like this.(look at the picture) saw this at another dog park and thought that it was very smart!
Probably one of the best dog parks ever!! Huge space and water available.
There are 4 fenced areas, 2 for small dogs and 2 for large dogs. Only one of each is open to allow the grass to recover. The people and dogs that we have met there have all been very friendly. There is a water pump but you will need a bowl for the dogs to drink from. There are “waste” bags and trash cans and most people seem to use them.
The nets are TERRIBLE there. There are waste bins directly at the gates you walk in ( hold your breath) they could have situated those somewhere inside the run spaces vs. right in your face to get inside.
Other than that it’s ok. The benches there could use repairing as they are falling apart.
