If you’re searching for a pet-friendly stay in the heart of Pocomoke City, Maryland, Econo Lodge offers basic accommodations for you and your furry companions. Conveniently located on Highway 13, this property provides easy access to nearby attractions and serves as a stopover for those exploring coastal regions or searching for dog-friendly activities in the area.
Although information about specific dog park amenities on property is limited, this location is known to allow pets in guest rooms, making it an option for pet owners traveling through the area. If you’re looking for hotels that allow pets near Pocomoke City or the surrounding Maryland and Chincoteague Island regions, Econo Lodge may fit your needs for overnight stays with dogs. However, note that some guest reviews express concerns about maintenance and cleanliness, so consider reviewing updated information before booking.
I am not too happy with my stay at this location. While it does have a somewhat close proximity to the beach and Chincoteague Island, it is located in a somewhat inconvenient location. When we checked in, the gentleman took my card to pay for the room and took time to complain to me about other guests in my party. We get into our room, which had an issue with the door and were greeted with a strong smell of mildew. You can tell the hotel room had water damage as the floorboards were lifting and the wall paper was peeling. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and rust stained the tub. Due to my mold allergy I struggled in this accommodation. Lastly, I’d just like to say, I booked in february, I was told the pool would be open by my visit in July, spoiler – it was not. PK the GM said in Feb it should be ready by our stay. When I called a week in advance, he said by the weekend. When I checked in Wednesday he said by Friday. If I had known, I would have booked somewhere else. He also did not apply my AAA discount as I had told him I had my card with me. I am not happy with this stay, am still dealing with the allergies from the mold and am waiting for a call back from corporate. I can deal with a lot, but this was just too much.
EDIT 7/16: I followed the instructions below only to be told corporate runs the reviews sections and per the front desk person I just spoke to, they do not need you to call the property directly obviously cause the guy had a attitude the whole time. He tried to come at me sideways because I called corporate and not them directly. IF YOU’D READ MY REVIEW – A BIG PROBLEM WAS I COULD NEVER LOCATE ONE PERSON WHO WORKED THERE BESIDES NORMA! I’m going to leave corporate to handle this now, their team at this location is honestly making things worse.
This is my first time ever leaving a bad review at a hotel. I was looking for an inexpensive room to stay in for 1 night after a long drive from Florida. The room ended up costing 150 dollars with taxes even with a discount the clerk gave me. My family and I stayed there for 7 hours and the room was absolutely filthy. There was no carpet. My daughter found a roach in the bed. The next morning I found a roach in the sink. The tub was rusting. The chain lock was broken. And it smelled like urine. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
One of the worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in in a hotel, about the only good thing I can say is it had clean towels and the water pressure was fine, and the young lady at the front desk was very pleasant. but that’s it. The tub had nasty rust stains, and looked like it had not been clean since the night of my senior prom in 1984, no windows except for a nasty one that overlooked a back alley. I would’ve never stayed. Had I seen how sketchy this place was at night the front door looked exactly like one of those TV scenes where the detectives are gonna bust in looking for a suspect
Looking at the other reviews and pictures for this place, I believe I got one of the better rooms, if there are any better rooms. The sofa was so old that I sank to the floor when I sat on it and so filthy and full of stains. Lots of wood rot especially around the air-conditioner. To adjust the air the box is on the wall, but so high up I couldn’t use it. The tub, let’s just say I waited till I got home. Thankfully I only stayed one night. This place should be condemned. Cannot believe they allow it to stay open.
I was thankful to find an available room that allowed pets. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, however the cleanliness of the room was not OK. They gave us a roll away bed but when we unfolded it, there were bugs crawling around and dead bugs collected inside it. The toilet was not clean. The room smelled and the sheets and blakets were stained. This hotel could have a lot more potential if it were simply cleaned by a professional.
