Discover the natural charm of Glencarlyn Dog Park, a popular destination for pet owners in Arlington, Virginia. Known for its scenic wooded trails, creek-side access, and spacious grounds, this dog-friendly park offers a perfect retreat for pups who love water and adventure. Off-leash dogs can splash in the shallow creek or roam the open areas while owners soak in the tranquil atmosphere just minutes from the city.
Glencarlyn Dog Park stands out with picnic tables, accessible pathways, and plenty of room for both people and pups. It’s a community-centric spot with regular cleaning and beautiful hiking opportunities nearby, making it family-friendly and perfect for outings. Please note: The dog area is not fenced, so attentive supervision and good recall are essential for a safe and enjoyable visit.
Great dog park with a nice trail attached, stream for the dogs to play in and it feels like you’re way out of the city.
I love the spot, I think they can do something with all the stones in the middle of the dog park so the dogs can run freely.
Incredible spot for well-behaved dogs with a great community of owners, as well. The best park about the dog park is the creek the pups can play in. It has multiple depths, so if you’re pup isn’t a strong swimmer, it can still play. Have a reactive dog? There is PLENTY of room along the stream to take your pup to play away from stimulus. If there are too many people and you just need a minute, there’s a great trail right behind the creek where you can take your pup for a walk until the traffic settles. And if you want to walk a little more, the rest of the park is huge and easily accessible.
“Amazing Dog Park for Water-Loving Pups!”
Glencarlyn Dog Park is a hidden gem for dogs who love to explore and splash around. The park offers a beautiful, natural setting with plenty of space for off-leash fun. My dog absolutely loved playing in the creek, which is perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The park is well-maintained and has a nice balance of wooded trails and open spaces for running. It’s a great place to let your dog be free and enjoy nature. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe and clean spot to bring their pup!
Fantastic dog park. Very clean and lots of space for your dogs to run. It is NOT FENCED!!! So please make sure your dogs have good recall.
The entrance is a road only big enough for one car so be careful coming and leaving.
