Located in the heart of Washington, District of Columbia, French Street Park offers a welcoming and serene environment for local residents and their pets. This dog-friendly park is recognized for its open green areas, beautiful flowers, and accessible layout, making it a hidden gem for both people and dogs who enjoy peaceful outdoor experiences. While it is not a traditional dog park with dedicated off-leash or fenced areas, leashed dogs are welcome to explore the well-kept lawns, relax beneath mature trees, and enjoy the fresh air alongside their owners.
The park features benches and tables with built-in seating, allowing visitors to gather, read, or work while their dogs enjoy the surroundings. Accessibility is prioritized, with a wheelchair accessible entrance, and the park is also a great place for kids to play in a safe, open space. The well-maintained green area creates the perfect pet-friendly getaway for quiet walks and relaxing afternoons in Washington, DC. Please keep in mind that dogs must remain on leash at all times and owners are required to clean up after their pets.
Great place for toddlers and preschoolers to get fresh air and play. Not a playground but open space with tables with built-in seats. L

My favorite park. I don’t mind the bickering and wont take the gawking personally but the serenity here at this park is magnificent!
One of the small gems of quiet spots scattered about WDC.
Park is well kept. Opens at 6am and closes at 8pm. People have held events here. Nice place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Dogs have to be kept on their leach at all times in the park. You must clean up behind your dog.
