Great hike. Could have used better maps. They were a bit confusing. But we enjoyed it. Loved the little bridge. Nice spot to stop for lunch. It would be great if there were port a pots. But I get why they don’t. But still. We were there for about 5 hours.
Great park to hike! White trail leads to a split into a second trail that will show you the falls and there is an orange trail that is moderate and a bit more challenging,rocks, roots and elevation. It also has more trails but I didn’t do the rest of them. I saw yellow and purple.
Overall a great hike! No cellphone signal, download your map trails of need one, before you get there! The parking is small,with two different areas to park on opposite sides of the park,keep in mind, select the hour according to your preference
Wonderful area for a hike. The trail goes along the stream for a ways and then one can hike up a general incline and around the hills for a few miles. The first is wide open and very little underbrush so the views are great. The steam path is mostly sandy but the hilly part does have done small rocks do you need good boots with support to save those ankles. Parking lot is fair size and will probably fill up on summer days.
This is another one of the hidden gems of Harford County. At a little over 7 miles with just enough elevation to get the heart pumping is a good trail to get through at a faster pace. There are plenty of trees covering the entire route so you should be good going any time of the day. There are a few gnats along the way but nothing too crazy for this time of the year. Along the river portions there were lots of opportunities to snap a few pictures. This is a mixed use trail so hikers you might want to keep the earbud in the car so you can listen for bikers along the way. Everyone was super respectful and happy to be out side. ☺️
Excellent trail that is hiker, cross-country biker and dog friendly. After a week of rain the trail was in excellent condition with only a few wet spots that were easy to navigate. The views are beautiful. I think we passed a total of 10 people on the whole trail. Keep your eats open for bikers as not all of them let you know that they are behind you. The breeze in the woods was great and there were no flies or gnats. The trail is very well maintained and clean.
