This was fun to explore. Had been on the want to visit section for so long and today we made it happen! Very interesting and beautiful!

I did this little trailer excursion on a whim. My 10-year-old daughter and I had a little extra time to spend and she said let’s go to the trails. We went there and actually spent more time than we thought it was about 2 hours. We had lunch and a blast together. This place is tucked away it’s very very nice clean and beautiful. It happens to be on the back side of the Dam of Cisco lake. If you’ve never been you really need to go. If you have been you need to go back cuz you know what I mean!

THANKS TO VOLUNTEERS AND CITY OF CISCO FOR MAKING THIS A PUBLIC SPACE. This is truly a unique setting. It is both a tranquil and eerie setting at the same time. I hope that over the years that more effort can be put into this place to keep it safe for visitors while still allowing the sense of abandonment to persist. It seems that the public wants to abuse this location, and my hope is that it can be patrolled and managed.

This nature trail is wonderful! The abandoned zoo was so interesting to view and the scenery was surreal. Pretty interesting facts about the zoo since 1920.
