Located in the heart of New York, Homer’s Run offers a pleasant escape for pet owners seeking a dog-friendly park with plenty of space for their furry companions. Known for its welcoming community of dog owners and a wide variety of friendly dogs, this spacious dog run features an off-leash area where big dogs can play fetch without disturbing others. Conveniently situated near pet-friendly trails and city amenities, it is popular among local residents looking for a dedicated and safe environment for their pets.
Unique to Homer’s Run are its dedicated large and small dog areas, though the large dog section is notably better maintained. During the summer, a water supply and seasonal wading pool are provided to keep pups cool, and the park’s layout affords ample room even during busier times. While the park is generally clean and managed by the community, it can get muddy after rain, so owners are advised to plan accordingly.
It’s a decent park. I just wish the smaller dog area was as nice as the bigger dog area. It’s pretty run down and dirty; not sure if I want my long haired dachshund playing around in it due to that. They also don’t have the necessities the bigger side has. Can we fix it up?
A great dog run with a wide range of friendly dogs and caring owners. There is also a water supply and a wading pool during the summer months.
Since it’s privately run, some patrons assume they don’t have to clean up after their dogs and the parks department will do it. Also, I’ve seen dog owners bring chocolate into the run to celebrate their dog’s birthdays 😑.
It’s a clean and spacious run where big dogs can fetch without bothering other dogs. There is a water faucet and a small separate space for puppies right next to the dog run.
Great god run! A bit muddy so wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
