The trailhead is located at the end of a road behind a gas station that runs along the highway. There is no parking lot. The main trail is paved for about 1 km and then turns into dirt trails. The park is located in a flood zone so it can be very wet or underwater depending on the season and weather. There are three benches located along the paved section of the trail. The highway is behind the benches and is very loud and sometimes visible.
This place is absolutely terrible. The trail is cracked asphalt that looks like it’s out of a broken world movie. The path is flanked by more invasive species than I have ever seen. The sound of the highway nearby takes away the possibility of any serenity or peacefulness. The state needs to do a major overhaul of this place to make it worthy of visiting families. It might be best to level it and start over.
Cute park that runs along with the quinnipiac river. A lot of cool old foundations along this trail. My first time hiking at this park and I enjoyed it.
