Uptown Dog Park is a popular dog park in Long Beach, California. Conveniently located at 4600 Long Beach Blvd, this pet-friendly park offers a spacious, shaded area where dogs can romp off-leash and socialize. The park is part of a larger community space featuring a playground, a scenic pond with duck sightings, picnic tables, clean public restrooms, and walking and bike trails. This makes Uptown Dog Park a fantastic destination for the whole family—including kids and four-legged friends.
What makes Uptown Dog Park unique are its separate areas for small and large dogs, ensuring safer play for pups of all sizes. The park includes benches and seating—especially on the small dog side—along with water fountains and dog bowls to keep pets hydrated. The wide-open, mostly dirt and shaded grounds provide plenty of room for energetic play, and poop bags are regularly stocked for easy cleanup. Uptown Dog Park is wheelchair accessible, welcoming all visitors and their canines to enjoy this community hub year-round.
I didn’t experience the dog park I went to walk a couple of laps around this park! This park in general is very big, has a big play ground and a pond, basketball courts, walking and bike area.
First time at this park and I gotta say I loved it! I went for the dog park but realized there’s also a whole regular park there with a pond and these cute tiny bridges surrounded by rocks and flowing water. I took my dog for a walk around the park and after she emptied her bladder, I took her to the dog park. They have two sides, one for small dogs and the other for big dogs. They offer water fountains and a few toys for the dogs. I will definitely be coming back. I did give it 4 stars because there’s a few questionable people walking around and also some dogs without leashes at the actual park. Some lady had her dog lose and the dog went and attacked another aggressive dog. The owner had to physically pick up her dog and go to her car. That could have turned into a very bad situation very fast. Not cool. If you know your dog is aggressive, keep it on a leash!
I like this dog park. There is almost always someone for our dog to play with. I’ve taken him to other local parks and there is no one. Everyone is always nice so far. There are plenty of benches and chairs. It’s shady and big. There are a couple balls and toys just lying around.
No grass but lots of room for a big dog to run. No bench on the big dog side… Would be nice. But there is a bench on the little dog side. Bags are always stocked and there is a water dish on both sides. Good park, we go regularly.
Love this park. It’s bigger than it looks. And has a nice duck pond and play ground for kids. The bathrooms were clean. Nice park.
