A bit small but plausible. Pet owners are nice and so are there dogs. I bring my kids with me and my dog and run all 3 , play catch with one kid and hang out. There is a section for bigger dogs and another for smaller dogs. Of course the size of dogs are separated by size and all in all its a great tiny little spot to run your dog

We take our GSP “Behr” here every other day. He lo💖es it! –
“This IS A DOG 🐶 PARK”, Children WILL get jumped on because this is a play area for DOGS. Don’t wear clothes you don’t want a little dirtied up with puppy paws, this is a DOG PARK.
PLEASE NO MORE KAREN’S WITH ABOVE ISSUES, “THIS IS
A DOG 🐶 PARK !” All NON Karen’s are more than welcome to bring your fur babies down for leash
Free fun !🐶🤩🐕🤩🐩🤩

The park is perfect besides needing some extra cleaning by the city. Just needs a power wash so I was going to say 4 stars but everything was pretty good, parking nearby and a place for my dog to run free

Dog Park rocks! What a treat-for Pet Owners! A Dog Park located on the North-West corner of Bixby Park, major cross streets of Cherry Ave & Broadway, overlooking the beach accessible by vehicles with reasonable parking, Long Beach Transit Busses; walkers & joggers and skate boarders & electric scooters. It’s one of the many amenities that makes Long Beach California a world class city that embraces its demographics & diversity. I say this because this is not just a courtesy attempt at providing a dirt lot & hanging a sign calling it a Dog Park. We’re talking prime beach side property that is built up with 2 fenced in sections- one side for big dogs & one side for small dogs. The entrance has a double security gate- entry gate opens to a small gated enclosure then secondary gate opens to the dig size section you choose. It’s handy to minimize risk of “Who Let the Dogs Out…Woof, woof woof”, the song you know. Anyways, doggie bags are provided for cleanup, water fountains that are Dog friendly. The grounds have a forest outdoor feel with wood & bark chips, small hills, trees and plenty of room to run and play. Theres bench & tree log sitting so you csn just let your pet play and talk to other pet owners. The Dog Park is a great addition to your calendar especially if you’re single, need an activity to get you out the house or just to enjoy the best weather around. I’m happy because I took on a 6 month year old dog awhile ago and now is turning 1 year old and having a dog Park makes the lifestyle (that what it becomes having a pet) of being a Pet Owner a bit easier. So just wanted to share how something that may appear insignificant to someone whizzing by who is not Pet Owner or the uninformed general public; that these locations like a Dog Park or whatever spots that LB Parks & Recreation creates are treasures no matter how far off the beaten path. Maybe I’ll see you here with your dogs. Pictures of my dog and mysekf- I didn’t want to post pics of others as respecting privacy, the close vicinity would show identifiable facial features.

Love that it’s local, I’m never constantly stepping in dog sh.. so that’s great. Lots of space to run. The trash bins can be cleaned more often. But it’s a dog park I guess it can’t smell that great by the trash cans. Or maybe consider moving them from the entrance.
I like the community board touch as well.
