Nestled on the picturesque shores of Mt Sinai, Satterly Landing Park offers dog owners and nature lovers a quiet, scenic escape along Long Island’s coast. Known for its tranquil waters, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful sunset views, this park is perfect for those looking to enjoy a peaceful outing with their canine companions. While not equipped as a traditional fenced dog park, its serene setting and open spaces make it ideal for leashed walks and relaxing by the water. Locals love it for fishing, kayaking, and shellfishing during the appropriate seasons.
Although amenities are limited (no restrooms or obvious dog-specific features), Satterly Landing Park’s unique charms—such as quirky art on pilings and fantastic sunrise and sunset vistas—make it a memorable destination for quiet picnics or pet-friendly strolls. Parking is available, and the area is generally uncrowded, providing a peaceful experience away from the hustle and bustle of more developed parks near Mt Sinai, NY.
Great views in this out of the way stop. Lots of fun art on the pilings. Quaint, quiet, a nice place to launch a kayak!
Another beautiful Long Island seaside spot.
Perfect for a picnic for 2 and 4 photographers take your pick sunrise or sunset they’re both amazing.
My go to spot for catching steamers. Check the nysdec website for open shellfish harvest areas. As of January 2018, this area is only open from November to April. Steamers must be at least 1.5 inches, 100 pc catch limit for the recreational harvesters.

Very quiet place to be either fishing, kayaking, or just to see the sunset. The area is tranquil because the boats are always on the other side of the cove. No porta potty here so keep it clean. You can easily be paddling here for a couple hours, no problem, and not crowded. I love been in the water and the sound always have these places to have lots of fun.
