My family just moved to the neighborhood and I was hoping to walk with my 1 year old daughter to Peterkin Park. But after looking at the deplorable condition of the grounds and equipment I changed my mind. The children’s play area is a disgusting sand pit and the entire grounds need to be updated. Amityville has a lot of potential for young families looking to become homeowners and deserve more for their tax dollars.

The jungle gym and play area is ideal for toddlers and smaller children.
However, the goose poop is everywhere and it has an odor. Also, I didn’t see any bathrooms.

It has so much potential but is NOT maintained. The park is filled with feces and needs TLC. The water looks like it’s sewer drainage. I’m surprised the ducks and geese aren’t glowing.
