🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Dartmouth Dog Park is a pet-friendly destination located at 443 Old Fall River Rd in North Dartmouth, MA. This dog park offers a spacious, fenced-in area for dogs to play and socialize off-leash, making it a popular spot for local dog owners. Known for its friendly community and accessibility, the park welcomes both kids and pets, with a wheelchair-accessible parking lot available.
While the park provides basic amenities like a trash can and some seating, visitors note that shaded areas are limited and amenities such as water fountains and maintained waste bag dispensers are lacking. There is no separate area for large or small dogs, so owners should be cautious when visiting with smaller or less socialized pups. The park’s natural terrain includes some dirt, rocks, and limited grassy patches. Parking is available, although it requires a short walk to reach the park itself. Recent community fundraising may mean future improvements are on the horizon for this neighborhood park.
Nice quiet dog park. Friendly people and dogs in our experience. Wish the chairs were in shade but other than that great space for pups to play.
This Dog park allows aggressive dogs, I brought my dog yesterday and this woman got in with her 2 dogs, one of them was a pitbull , he seemed nice, but after playing a little bit, he stacked my dog, the lady didn’t have control over him, she didn’t even knew the age of the dog, and she didn’t even wanted to check on my dog, she went home, and we had to bring my dog to the hospital, he’s very hurt! Be careful when you bring your dogs there, not really trustful
So money was raised to build a new dog park on this property. The dog park they have now is ok but no separate areas for large/small dogs. My dog is 25 lbs and scared of large dogs. Many people bring
aggressive dogs that are not socialized around other dogs. I hope the new park will accommodate for this. Haven’t heard any updates on new park.
Park has some overgrown grass, but is mostly dirt. No water. There is a trash can, but the poop bags dispenser is broken and empty. There are some grocery bags, but not many. Parking lot is a bit of a hike up the road from the park (parking lot is first, park is further down the road)
Unfortunately, possibly due to the lack of bags, there was a fair amount of unpicked-up poop….
This dog park is ok i feel like it needs some work though its wicked rocky and barely any shade. It also gets wicked icy in the winter which isnt safe for dogs or dog owners it needs more care. I heared they raise 15 thousand to renavate it but nothing has been done with it yet. The parks and feilds in the back look like they have been renovated already a.d are super nice i just wish the dog park got the same tlc.
