Nestled off the beaten path, Indian Pond Campground offers a true taste of the Maine wilderness—a perfect getaway for campers and their four-legged friends. Located down a scenic 7-mile gravel road in West Forks, ME, this dog-friendly site is known for its privacy and spacious campsites, providing a peaceful retreat for those seeking time in nature. Guests consistently praise the remote yet accessible location, and the campground’s easy access to the pond and river, making it a favorite spot for both anglers and avid hikers.
While the campground’s main appeal lies in its tranquil setting and hot showers, dog owners will love exploring the pet-friendly trails and open spaces alongside their companions. The campground does not feature a traditional fenced dog park but offers plenty of natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor adventure, with sunsets over the water and ample shade from the trees. Access to the pond may be ideal for dogs that enjoy swimming or playing along the shoreline, creating memorable experiences for you and your furry friend in the heart of Maine.
Loved this spot! Caught several small mouth bass in the pond. Easy river access as well. Campsites are spaced nicely and somewhat private. Showers are hot and 25c for 3 minutes. We loved our stay!!
Quite CG with nice sunset opportunities. You need to drive the 7 miles gravel road to get to the campground. It’s 20 miles from the AT trail for hikers.
We just got back from their and what a great place to visit and stay for a while. The sites were remote and private, not on top of each other. We are going back in September and again in October before they close for the season
I love this place! Camping the right way!
First time going and we will be back! The camp ground wasn’t opened when we went on Mother’s Day but the nice lady at the gate let us in to check it out. The dirt road getting there is better then most paved roads and the campsites seemed really cool. I think it would be a great place to bring the family in the Summer.
