Bark Park, located within Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, New York, is a welcoming off-leash dog park designed with both dogs and their owners in mind. The park features separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all pet sizes. Known for its friendly community, you and your pup will find well-behaved dogs and considerate owners, making it easy to meet fellow dog lovers.

Parking options are available nearby, and the park is nestled within a larger recreational area that offers a variety of family-friendly activities. While shade is limited, the Bark Park’s cleanliness and lively atmosphere make it a favorite spot for off-leash fun in Westchester County.
Always welcoming and friendly…water and poop bags available. Separate small large dog areas.
I was nervous to use the dog park, since I have had a few negative experiences with them in the past, but we have enjoyed using the bark park!
Pros:
My young puppy absolutely loves running here, and the people & their dogs who come to the park are quite friendly. She has several friends who we see regularly! Typically we see 2-6 dogs in the large dog side, but the small dog side is usually empty. Beyond that, the park has poop bags and bins available around the whole field, so I have never seen poop on the ground. There are often balls for the pups to play with, and a provided bowl & water spout. There is lots of nearby parking, so getting in is easy.
Cons:
There is very little shade available in the park depending on the time of day, which has been difficult with the heat wave. Hopefully they add more shade in the future. There is a fee to access the park, but since registering your dog with the town is a normal requirement of owning of dog, the fob is a nominal price (about ? for yearly access). There is also a fee to park in Harbor Island park half of the year, and much of the street parking is paid depending on the time of day. If you come after 6pm or if you can get a side street (or are just close enough to walk!), you can avoid parking fees.
Friendly park and community with mostly nice and well behaved dogs (and owners 🙂 It is easy to make connection with look alike caring dog owners and their pups. Highly recommended for off leash fun.
Who charges for a dog parkNULL
Clean, well-maintained, with access to fresh water on both the large dog and small dog sides of the park until the winter months. Doggy bag dispensers are refilled and trash bins emptied regularly. Very friendly members – both the humans and the dogs. There is parking behind the water treatment plant as well as off the Post Road. Nearest restrooms for the people are located at the village Parks and Recreation offices. It’s great to be able to bring your kids to enjoy the park – e.g., soccer, baseball, tennis, etc. and exercise your dog in the dog park. A limited number of fobs for non-village residents are available this year. I hope they all get taken up so that more fobs will be made available next year!
