Elizabeth Place Dog Park: A Dog-Friendly Haven in Nyack, New York

Elizabeth Place Dog Park is one of Nyack’s most beloved dog parks, offering a spacious, fenced area for your pups to play and socialize. Nestled near the Palisades and conveniently located just off S Broadway, this park stands out as a top spot for dog owners seeking a safe, off-leash environment with plenty of room to roam. The park is accessible from both Elizabeth Place and the nearby Raymond G. Esposito Rail Trail, making it easy to combine a park visit with scenic pet-friendly walks.

Pet parents will appreciate thoughtful amenities such as benches, waste bags, trash bins, and a steady supply of fresh water and bowls for dogs. Its big with varied terrain. No special surfacing so parts get muddy after rain. Water for dogs. No special yard for small dog. No human amenities. Gets shaded by Pallisades in late afternoon. Parking should be done on main street, not neighborhood side street (abutters complain if you do). All in all I think its one of the better parks around.

It was nice. Spacy, although I would have like there to have the small back side leading upward near the highway fenced. The dogs can’t get hurt because there is a nice green area, and the highway have there own gray short fence but I would have felt a little safer for my dog. And I would have like less dirty area and more grass area but over all it was nice. People that I meet there that day known there dog, were nice, friendly. The people of the neighborhood were Great.

My wife loves going with the dog after work (much closer to home than veterans memorial). 2 small issues….. one is it gets very muddy near the entrance and the center (likely due to traffic, but there’s no longer grass there is the real issue). Second is the benches were put right across from where the sun is most of the day. I imagine there were many locations better suited….. always bags, garbage pail, water, bowls, and a 6 foot fence all around. Nice park, all-in-all…..

Nice place for dogs. Benches. Playground adjacent. Access from Elizabeth Place or the Raymond G. Esposito Rail Trail. Noisy as it’s next to the NY State Thruway.

To all dog owners and parents with young kids South Nyack has a surprise for you. Original a dog park recently they created a beautiful playground on the property as well. Its not the biggest dog park, but its long enough th throw the tennis ball, and get your dog a good workout.. The dog park has fresh water, benches, and poop bags, and its a great place to strike up a conversation with other dog lovers. Parking should be done on main street, not neighborhood side street.. All in all I think its one of the better dog parks around, and parents with young ones its a very pretty playground and definitely not overcrowded. The address is 5 Elizabeth Place in South Nyack.
